I have been practicing law in Southern Maine since I graduated (with distinction) from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1986. I began working as a trial lawyer in a small firm in Sanford. While at that firm I worked mostly in the defense of criminal cases, including some of the most notorious felonies charged in York County.

In 1994, I went to work at the Portland, Maine law firm of Schwartz and Schwartz, P.A. That firm focused on the representation of people who had been injured in auto accidents, in falls and from medical malpractice. While I was there, much of my time was spent in the preparation and trial of personal injury lawsuits.

In 1998, I opened my own practice, back in Sanford. Since I have returned to Sanford I have focused primarily on personal injury cases and criminal defense cases, including OUI, drawing on the experience I gained in my earlier work. In 2005, I moved my office to the Village of Springvale, where I continue to practice today.

In 2006, I was admitted to practiced in New Hampshire. Since then, I have been handling personal injury and criminal cases, including DWI, in New Hampshire as well.

I am admitted to practice in the State Courts of Maine, New Hampshire and Nebraska, The United States District Court for the District of Maine, The United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (Boston) and The United States Supreme Court.

In addition to practicing law, I was a firefighter with the Newfield Volunteer Fire Department from 1992 through 2007. From 1995 through 1998 I was on the School Board for School Administrative District 57 (Massabesic High School). I also coached softball in the Shaker Valley Little League from 1999 through 2003 and at the Massabesic Junior High School in 2005 and 2006.

I have been a Trustee of the Sanford Lodge of Elks (Lodge 1470) and have worked as a volunteer ski instructor with the Adaptive Ski Program at the Shawnee Peak Ski Area (Bridgton, Maine).
